Kate Lanphear currently freelances as a brand strategist/consultant and stylist for US and international clients, with an expertise in fashion and cultre. At Google, she has helped build and launch experiential initiatives on their search platform for fashion weeks, signing more than 60 luxury brands for the launch season and is also developing a fashion portal of the Arts and Culture division.
She was most recently the Editor-in-Chief of Maxim, charged with reimagining the brand. She also oversaw the fashion departments for T, the style magazine of the NY Times, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. She was responsible for content, consumer and client strategy, and revenue streams including but not limited to advertising, circulation and licensing.
In 2015, for the second time, Lanphear was listed in “Business of Fashion 500” as one of the world's most influential fashion insiders.
As a freelance stylist and consultant, Lanphear has also consulted for international brands on product development, trend forecasting, runway show styling and campaign strategy/creative direction. Notable clients include Armani, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hilfiger, Diesel, Converse and Costume National, Theory, Public School.
