Christian Wijnants’ journey with the International Woolmark Prize has been forever woven into the history books. The Belgium-based designer not only won the European regional finals in 2012, but wowed the judges at the global final and was awarded the coveted prize.
Wijnants launched his eponymous label and since then has shown at Paris fashion week for more than 18 seasons and is stocked in more than 60 stores across the world.
His winning IWP entry started with a single piece of yarn and exploring all of its potential, including applying the shibori technique, creating a unique shape and moulding it around the body like a sculptor.
Wijnants this year returns to the IWP, swapping positions to become an esteemed judge for the Asia regional final.
